Whether penciled in history books for reasons good, bad, ugly, and/or everything in between, 2020 brought with it some of entertainment’s most memorable moments.
Now, as the year draws to a close, That Grape Juice is reflecting on our favorite moments that rocked – and to some degree maybe even reshaped – the Urban and Pop cultural landscape as we know it.
Next, we’ll look back at how Taylor Swift over came the drama of 2019 (see: ‘Cats’ failure at the box office, beef with Scooter Braun, etc.) to dominate 2020!

14 years after unveiling her debut album, Taylor Swift is STILL the girl to beat – a positioning she reaffirmed in 2020 when she released a top-rated Netflix special and not one, but TWO chart-topping albums.
‘Folklore’ (released in July) and ‘Evermore’ (released in December) garnered two of the year’s highest first week sales when they moved 846,000 and 329,000 respectively.
Across the two projects, Swift nabbed two #1 hits on the Hot 100 – ‘Cardigan’ and ‘Willow.’ Their premieres atop the tally penciled the singer in history books as the third female act to own at least three #1 debuts over her career (behind Mariah Carey and Ariana Grande). The feat was one of many reasons Taylor entered history books this year.
But, while her year was full of highs it wasn’t without drama.
2020 was a hell of a year for an artist who kicked it off with snubs at the year’s GRAMMY and Golden Globes’ respective ceremonies!
We can’t wait to see what the diva has cooked up for us in 2021!
