Eminem is getting candid.
The ‘Gnat’ rapper recently sat down with Apple Music‘s Zane Lowe to reflect on his career and to discuss the release of his ‘Music To Be Murdered By: Side B’ album. During their conversation, Em revealed the reason as to why it is so hard to choose the best rapper of all time.
His words below…
“Hip-hop’s went through too many different transitions for anyone really to be the best rapper of all time. It’s evolved. Now people are doing things with flows that I never could have seen happening. But at the same time, rappers from that era meant so much more to that era, just because there were so many innovators and there were so many rappers.”
The Detroit-born rapper then went on to say that his favorite era of Hip-Hop was the “golden era of Hip-Hop” and cited his current favorite rappers. Lil Wayne, J. Cole, Kendrick Lamar, and Joyner Lucas are all made the cut.

Shut up COCO the CLOWN you don’t even like white people and stop pretending to be black.
Congratulations, you are now full blown RETARDED lmaooooo 🥳🤣 Please stay OUT of my comment box Clarkmila 😂🤳🏽
I’m not Clarksoon and even if I was you can’t stop me from doing anything I want to do. You are vile racist trash.
Oh please Clarkmila, go listen to your lead single that peaked at #52 on the Billboard Hot 100 called LIAR 🤣💯 Funny how MY SCREEN NAME that you TRY to inhabit is a WHITE RAPPER lol…like I SAID, stay retarded with absolutely not a damn DROP of FLAVOR lmaooooo 🤳🏽💋
Fancy CLOWN maybe in 2021 you would have the guts to face me in real life without having to be a keyboard warrior clown.
I was thinking instantanly the same when I readt the title and he didn’t disappoint me with this answer. It’s silly to try to name one single rapper to be the best of all time, each era brings something special to the table.
I miss the old real slim shady. All his songs are deadly serious now💅🏿💅🏿💅🏿
Same for me 👍 that era was really something.
Em really is the best rapper of all time. However, people don’t want to admit it because he is white boy during our music.
Tupac Shakur is still the greatest
Lil Wayne is 2nd
Em was signed by a black man
No problem with him be
And Crackney Houston was signed by a white man.
Oh look another fool trying to rewrite what it means to have extra ordinary talent and reach legendary status to appease this new generation of mediocrity.
It’s Jay Z period
