Janet Jackson is starting 2021 off with a huge milestone.
35-years after the release of her iconic ‘Control’ album, the LP has now topped Apple’s U.S Pop Albums chart. As a result, she took to Instagram to deliver a special message to her fans.
Her words below…
“I was at home just the other day by myself and I began to cry. I was crying because I was so thankful for all that God has blessed me with, all that he has given me. I’m so thankful for him being in my life. And I am so thankful for all of you being in my life. You’re so special to me.”
The GRAMMY-winner acknowledged the achievement toward the end of the video, where she insisted she never thought it would happen.
“I want to thank all of you for making ‘Control’ number one once again after 35 years. I never, never in a million years, I would never think that this would happen. I really appreciate you and I love you so, so much. Thank you.”
Jackson’s message comes after ‘Control’ took control of the top of the tally on February 6 and has stayed in the upper echelon of the chart ever since.
Needless to say, a huge congratulations is in order for Miss Jackson. Truly deserved.
The legend’s message comes just days after Justin Timberlake apologized to Jackson over the 2004 Super Bowl incident (as we reported here).
