Published: Tuesday 9th Feb 2021 by Rashad

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers may have been declared the Super Bowl champions after their crushing defeat of the Kansas City Chiefs, but the post-game data is revealing its halftime show headliner – The Weeknd – is the real winner.

After taking to The Big Guava’s Raymond Jones Stadium to crank out his biggest hits including ‘Blinding Lights,’ ‘The Hills,’ ‘Can’t Feel My Face,’ and more, the 30-year-old (born Abel Tesfaye) saw those very smashes revisit the top of real-time iTunes charts.

Details inside:

Just a day after scoring praise aplenty for his high octane Super Bowl performance (as we reported here), real-time sales charts show Tesfaye currently occupying 7 of its top 10 spots with tunes that date back as far as 2015 (i.e. ‘The Hills’).

The collective uptick in sales thanks to the millions who tuned in to watch his Super Bowl showing represent a 385% increase in activity of his catalog.
