I just want it to be over takes on new meaning for R&B diva Keyshia Cole.
Nearly 17 years after the GRAMMY-nominated songstress first cracked the Pop charts with her introductory hit ‘I Changed My Mind,’ she has seemingly changed her mind about wanting to continue pursuing her career in music.

Taking to Twitter Wednesday (March 17), Cole left fans stunned with the announcement she was retiring. The statement was made in response to an encouraging fan who was noting the growing buzz afforded to the singer’s latest single, ‘I Don’t Want to Be in Love.’
As news of her announcement made its rounds, many of her supporters reacted in disbelief. In response, Keyshia confirmed the tweet did not come from a hacker nor was she joking.
Concerned fans immediately wondered about the status of Cole’s forthcoming eighth studio album (for which ‘I Don’t Want to Be in Love’ serves as the first single of).
Bringing the conversation full circle, some alluded to the commercial nonperformance of ‘I Don’t Want to Be in Love’ being the catalyst for Cole’s decision as the song has yet to crack the Hot 100 over a month after its release.
However, Keyshia suggested family matters were her inspiration.
Needless to say, Twitter did NOT take the news well of yet another beloved singer/songwriter (under 40-years-old) announcing a permanent hiatus.
