Lana Del Rey is gearing up to release her ‘Rock Candy Sweet’ album, and she’s delving up some controversy in the meantime.
Fresh-off the release of her ‘Chemtrails Over The Country Club’ album (stream it here), the singer took to social media to announce her next project and how it will “challenge” cultural appropriation.

Alongside a screenshot of a Harper’s Bazaar article called ‘Lana Del Rey Can’t Qualify Her Way Out Of Being Held Accountable,’ she wrote:
“Just want to say thank you again for the kind articles like this one and for reminding me that my career was built on cultural appropriation and glamorizing domestic abuse.”
“I will continue to challenge those thoughts on my next record June 1 titled ‘Rock Candy Sweet.'”
This is not the first controversy that the ‘Summertime Sadness’ singer has found herself in over the past year.
In May of last year, she criticized Beyoncé and Nicki Minaj for the lack of clothing, while leaving out many white entertainer’s names.
Then, in the unveiling of her album cover for ‘Chemtrails Over The Country Club,’ she preemptively clapped back over the lack of diversity in the artwork (as we reported here).
