It’s been over 10 years since Keri Hilson first nabbed headlines for perceived Beyoncé disses (i.e. on red carpet interviews, the remix of her 2009 hit, ‘Turnin Me On,’ etc.), but now the GRAMMY nominee says the beef is old news and the two have moved on.
Hot on the promo trail for her recently unveiled, critically acclaimed made-for-TV film, ‘Lust’ (click here to see the trailer), the 38-year-old was quizzed about the current status of her relationship with the Queen Bey.
To the surprise of listeners, Hilson glowed when discussing the diva – and even suggested she’d be open to sharing the stage with her one day.
Details inside:
In a new interview with radio host Persia Nicole (seen above), Keri reflected on the “healing moment” she squashed the beef with Bey.
“She actually has introduced herself. It was a gracious moment,” Keri said reminiscing on the first time she met the ‘Crazy in Love’ singer. “I appreciated it. I feel like she understood what happened, what had transpired and there was a bit of healing in that moment when we met. I take her as a very intuitive kind of soul, as am I.”
When asked if she would ever collaborate with the GRAMMY winner, Hilson may have surprised with her answer.
“Yeah, it would be a very fun experience to do that if she were open. I do feel like she understood what that was all about,” she said. “She’s amazing. I’ve always felt that way. That’s the truth of the matter, but no one will believe that.”
The singer-songwriter believes the collaboration could happen now because of the ladies’ “mutual respect.”
“We can understand and nod and have a mutual respect [now],” Keri continued. “I think at the very minimum there can be that. That’s always possible and that’s where I’m at. I made a decision that was not authentic to who I truly am and of course I regret it. Of course.”
