Bree Runway is sounding off on the drama that led to the removal of a Busta Rhymes sample from her latest single ‘Hot Hot.’
Full story below…
The track was unleashed along with its accompanying video in March and came bearing a prominent sample of Busta’s 2005 hit ‘Touch It.’
However, fans noticed that the streaming version of the song now features a different beat. One entirely different from the original.
Bree first hinted at frustration, tweeting:

The multi-hyphenate star then followed with:
“one thing about me is, I always do MY JOB AND MORE, somewhere along the line someone didn’t do theirs… hence why we are at this version of the song, I’ve cried, screamed TRUST ME I’m as mad as you are, and I’m sorry we’ve reached here.
and just to be clear, it’s nothing to do with busta, not his fault.
have me out here looking tone deaf URGHHHHH lemme not even start, love you guys and thank you for your support Red heart.”
Yikes.
Sample or no sample, the song remains a bop and Bree still serves as one of music’s most exciting new names.
Check out the differences between the versions below:
Oh my my! Normani finally releases new song and the visual is stunning.
Hunny, she’s ugly as f******* 💅🏿💅🏿 Just like your name Ughhhh
A hot mess
Write original music and you won’t have to worry about clearing a sample.
But, I guess it’s hard to write music when you’re not an actual musician.
Youre an idiot. The writing was original its the beat sample
Desperate dark turd 💩
Someone should s*** a turd in your mouth so you can finally shut the f*** up…
Knowing your ass you’d probably like it too much tho 💩💩💩
I rather having some creamy hot loads in my mouth. 💅🏿💅🏿 You can toss my Diva salad 🥗
Issa bop though. She is real talent. English black chicks from London always bring the heat over the American ones. England just has that something that the US doesn’t… REALNESS AND SWAG 🔥🏴🇬🇧
Issa flop sis
Girl bye, the Brits don’t want a day!
Beyoncé’ stans’ opinions are irrelevant.
The new version is an improvement imo. Sample or no sample, the song sounds dated as heck.
Everybody talkin about Busta Rhymes but he ain’t the only one she has to get clearance from. “Touch It” was built off of a sample of Daft Punk’s 2005 song “Technologic.”
