As if Jazmine Sullivan picking up her highest Hot 100 charting single since 2010’s ‘Holding You Down’ wasn’t enough to brag about (as we reported here), the 34-year-old’s picked up a career first thanks to the enduring R&B hit from her latest body of work, ‘Heaux Tales.’
Exciting news from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) inside.
On May 3, the RIAA updated its logs to reveal Sullivan’s ‘Pick Up Your Feelings’ – the second single from her comeback project ‘Heaux Tales’ – had crossed its threshold for Gold certification. This means it has sold the equivalent of 500,000 copies in the United States alone.
Despite Jazmine being a longtime celebrated singer-songwriter who has been nominated for 12 GRAMMYs over the last 12 years, fans would be surprised to know ‘Feelings’ comes as her first Gold-certified single.
As of time reported, her only other certified work is her 2008 debut album ‘Fearless’ (which attained Gold status in 2015).
