Kanye West‘s ‘Donda’ album is on course for what could be the year’s biggest sales debut.

The long-delayed set was finally uncaged on Saturday to much fanfare.
Prior to that point, the headline-grabbing rapper had drummed up buzz by way of a series of stadium “listening events” – which saw him fine-tune and perform the LP.
All, it seems, has created the perfect storm around the album, which is West’s 10th.
For, the first-week sales predictions are in and the numbers are massive.
Hits Daily Double reports that the 27-track set is on course to launch in the US with sales of 300,000 equivalent units. A figure that puts the project in contention to serve as the year’s best-selling debut.
The numbers are fuelled by the album’s epic performance on streaming platforms.
Indeed, the LP has earned almost 100 million first-day streams on the global Spotify count – rendering it the second biggest album debut of all-time.
‘Donda’ has staged a takeover of the entire top 10 on Spotify in the US; it also occupies all but three spots on the platform’s Top 25 in the States.
Over on Apple Music, the album has taken over the top 20.
The stats are similar on the global tally too.
Suffice to say, his marketing muscle is delivering.
