In breaking news, a judge has removed Britney Spears‘ father, Jamie Spears, as conservator of her estate.

The eagerly anticipated hearing is ongoing, but it’s been revealed that Judge Brenda Penny ruled in favor of Britney’s attorney Mathew Rosengart to have Jamie removed with immediate effect.
Some may recall that Jamie actually put wheels in motion to step down and petitioned to have the entire conservatorship that the signer has been in for 13 years dissolved.
However, Rosengart argued that Jamie’s arguably sudden pivot was more a legal move to prevent scrutiny of several claims his superstar daughter made about the abuse of power.
Aspects of the latter – including accusations of alleged phone tapping – were unpacked in recent documentaries ‘Controlling Britney’ and Netflix’s ‘Britney vs. Spears.’
With the latest ruling, Jamie has not only been suspended as Britney’s conservator, but he must also submit all books, records, and documents related to the conservatorship.
Rosengart angled for this (as well as a 30 – 45 day buffer rather than immediate suspension of the conservatorship) so as to allow for deep probing amidst concerns about possible “corruption.”
Furthermore, the judge appointed CPA John Zabel as temporary conservator of the estate until December 31. Although, it’s believed there will be petitions to end the conservatorship before then.
With this latest development, it appears Britney’s bid to be free of the legal hold that has governed her personal and professional life may well be in sight.
