Full story below…
The Pop queen has revealed that her hotly anticipated album ‘Black Diamond’ will be arriving in 2022 via her label, Rhythm Nation Records.
First announced at the start of 2020, the roll-out of the project and its like-titled tour were paused due to the pandemic.
However, per Miss Jackson…it’s officially time to hit play.
And fans won’t have to wait long for the first taste of the project.
Because Jackson has revealed to PEOPLE that the lead single will be dropping before the end of this year.
Additional details are due soon, but creatives confirmed to have crafted tracks on the project include longtime collaborators Jimmy Jim & Terry Lewis, Siedah Garret, founding Earth, Wind & Fire member Ralph Johnson, producer Darrell Randle, and Marcel East.
The timeline aligns with Jackson’s two-night Lifetime documentary event.
Set to premiere in January 2022, the special promises a raw and unvarnished look into the life of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee.
Christened ‘Janet,’ the four-hour doc – which the singer has executive produced – will see her lift the lid on various aspects of her personal and professional life – including her astronomical rise, Super Bowl appearance with Justin Timberlake in 2004, the death of her brother Michael, relationships, becoming a mother later in life, and more.
