15 years after first topping the Billboard 200, Justin Timberlake‘s sophomore solo LP (and arguable magnum opus) ‘FutureSex/LoveSounds’ found itself in a familiar position this week when it was listed among the top-selling albums in the country.
Originally released in September 8, 2006, ‘Future’ – which boasts the hits ‘SexyBack,’ ‘My Love,’ and ‘Until the End of Time’ – spent some time in the upper rankings of Pop iTunes sales listing recently as fans took to social media in droves to ode the anniversary of the critically acclaimed project. Among fans of the effort was the creator himself.
Taking to Instagram Wednesday (September 8), Timberlake told his 61.5 million followers:
“15 years ago today, I released my 2nd album… FutureSex/LoveSounds. This album changed my life. Every album is a different chapter and special to me but, this one??? I don’t even know if I have the words.
I’m often asked what my favorite song on the album is but they’re all my babies so I can’t pick. But I do know this: album STILL HITS.”
While we’ll find out next week if the sales boost was enough to push ‘Future’ back into the Billboard 200, what’s for sure is the interest underscores excitement for the next offerings from the GRAMMY winner.
Until we get more news on that heavily teased effort (the follow-up to 2018’s critically polarizing ‘Man of the Woods’), look below to see where Justin’s ‘Future’ landed on updated sales charts.
