Sheeran’s enlisting comes just hours after he premiered his new single ‘Shivers,’ which is the track he’ll be performing on the broadcast.
The song follows global smash ‘Bad Habits’ and is similarly lifted from the singer’s forthcoming album ‘= (Equals)’ — due October 29.
The 30-year-old’s showing at the September 12 ceremony will come alongside previously announced performances from Chloe Bailey, Normani, Doja Cat, Lil Nas X, Camila Cabello, Alicia Keys, Machine Gun Kelly, Olivia Rodrigo, Shawn Mendes, and Twenty One Pilots.
Hosted by Doja Cat, the VMAs 2021 air live from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn on Sunday, September 12 at 8PM ET/PT.
