The catchy cut has rocketed straight in at #1 – ending the 11-week reign of ‘Bad Habits.’
Both songs are lifted from Sheeran’s incoming album ‘= (Equals),’ which is due October 29.
‘Shivers’ premieres with 59,000 chart sales; a sum that includes 9,000 physical CDs.
And while a mammoth feat, it’s not the first time the star has replaced himself at #1. For, in January 2018, ‘Perfect’ was bumped from the top spot by Eminem’s ‘River’ — which he featured on.
That said, this is notably the first time Sheeran has pulled off the epic achievement as the lead artist.
The seismic achievement comes on the day Sheeran announced his stadium trek, ‘The Mathematics Tour.’
