Blazing its way to the top, the Greg Kurstin-produced track has become the British belter’s third #1 after selling a mammoth 217,300 equivalent sales in its first week.
The figure represents the highest launch week sum for a single since Ed Sheeran’s 2017 effort ‘Shape Of You’ premiered with 226,800.
Adele also snatched another UK record, by drumming up 24 million streams in the single week – besting Ariana Grande’s record of 19.9 million streams with 2019 single ‘7 Rings’ (16.9 million).
Elsewhere on the tally, the 33-year-old scores the highest first-week digital download sales of this year (23,500).
The success of ‘Easy’ has had a residual effect on prior releases, with ‘When We Were Young’ shooting to #25 and ‘Someone Like You’ soaring to #34.
’30,’ Adele’s first album in six years, arrives on November 19. It goes without saying that there will inevitably be more chart wins on the horizon for this certified force.
