RIAA: Lil Nas X’s ‘Industry Baby’ Certified Double Platinum

As if ‘Industry Baby’ delivering Lil Nas X‘s latest ride to the Hot 100’s summit wasn’t enough to celebrate, the Jack Harlow-assisted tune – released just 3 months ago – is now welcoming exciting news from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).

Wednesday (October 27), the RIAA took to press to announce ‘Industry Baby’ – the official third single from LNX’s debut studio album ‘Montero’ – had crossed its threshold for 2x Platinum status.  This means it’s sold the equivalence of 2 million copies in the United States alone.

For X, the win comes as the fifth tune of his career to be certified as high or higher and follows the gargantuan success of ‘Old Town Road’ as well as hits ‘Panini,’ ‘Rodeo,’ and the controversial ‘Montero (Call Me By Your Name).’

For Harlow, the triumph comes as the second tune of his career to be certified as high or higher and follows the success of his 5x Platinum signature hit, ‘What’s Poppin’ (2020).
