The Brit Awards are making major changes.
For, the ceremony is now doing away with gendered categories.

For the upcoming 2022 ceremony, artist of the year, will replace the British male solo artist and British female solo artist categories. Additionally, the category of international artist of the year will now replace the previous gendered solo awards.
In a statement, Brits chair and Polydor Records co-president Tom March said:
“It is important that The BRITs continue to evolve and aim to be as inclusive as possible. It feels completely the right time to celebrate the achievements of artists for the music that they create, and the work that they do, irrespective of gender.”
The next Brit Awards ceremony is set to take place on February 8 at the O2 Arena in London will be hosted for the first time by Mo Gilligan.
