Elton John is one of entertainment’s most celebrated singers ever.
One of the only seven acts to have sold over 250 million records in the history of recorded music, his lengthy list of hits had already spanned 5 decades but – thanks to ‘Levitating’ diva Dua Lipa – it’s now impacting charts in a sixth.
More inside:
Last week, John and Lipa leaped into the top 20 with the PNAU remix of their hit duet, ‘Cold Heart.’ The entry – Elton’s 41st top 20 hit and Dua’s 5th – marked his first appearance in the chart region since 1997’s ‘Something About the Way You Look Tonight/Candle in the Wind’ – the tribute to the late Princess Diana who died earlier that year. At 11x Platinum, the song remains one of the best-selling singles of all time.
This week, ‘Cold’ continued its hot streak on the Hot 100 by hopping to #14. Its success comes as the highest rung John reached on the tally since peaking at #29 with his last top 40 hit – 1998’s Leann Rimes-assisted ‘Written in the Stars.’
