Here at That Grape Juice, we love all things R&B! So, fittingly, we’ve teamed up with DJ Ace – one of the UK’s most revered R&B connoisseurs and host of BBC 1Xtra‘s weekly series Everything RNB (which airs Sundays at 10pm).
Each week he’ll be rounding up his latest show and previewing what’s upcoming on the next episode. Right here on That Grape Juice.
Without further ado, check out the latest installment with DJ Ace below…
It’s your boy Ace, and I’m back again to put you onto the best in new R&B. I’ve picked three dope tracks for my #SPOTLIGHT3. Let’s get into it!
Leon Bridges – Summer Rain (ft. Jazmine Sullivan)
‘Summer Rain’ is featured on Leon Bridge’s latest project, ‘Gold-Digger’s Sound (Deluxe).’ The original album was released back in July of this year, but on the updated deluxe version, he enlisted the help of the amazing Jazmine Sullivan, and as usual, her soulful vocals well and truly stole the show.

Tamera – Good Love (ft. Tay Iwar)
You may remember Tamera from The X Factor back in 2013. This week she released her debut EP ‘Afrodite.’ Speaking about her new project, she said “I named it ‘AFRODITE’ as a nod to my African & Greek heritage, both of which I’m very proud of.” ‘Wickedest’ and ‘Strong For Me’ are tracks I’ve been playing for a while on 1Xtra’s R&B Show, so I was excited to hear what else she had in store. ‘Good Love’ is the standout track for me, where she linked up with Nigerian rising star Tay Iwar.

Debbie – Is This Real Love?
I stumbled upon this track by chance, and I’m so glad that I did. Debbie’s soulful vocals really translate the emotions she felt. ‘Is This Love’ seems to be the first of five songs she will be releasing and I’ll most definitely be keeping her on my radar. Debbie explained on her social media that she had written for others behind the scenes for a while, and is getting used to being able to release her own music, starting with a series of songs she wrote at home over the past year.

That’s all for this week, but make sure you tune into 1Xtra’s R&B Show this Sunday from 10pm, where Ray BLK will be handling the show for me again.
He tryna break a new artist every week that’s not realistic
