CMAs 2021: Jennifer Hudson & Chris Stapleton Get Standing Ovation With Aretha Franklin Tribute [Watch]

Published: Thursday 11th Nov 2021 by Rashad

R-E-S-P-E-C-T is exactly what Jennifer Hudson got as she blew the roof off Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena at the 2021 CMAs on Wednesday (November 10).

On hand to deliver a tribute to Queen of Soul Aretha Franklin (who she also won rave reviews portraying in the recent biopic ‘Respect’), Hudson soared as she rendered riveting renditions of Franklin’s ‘You Are My Sunshine’ and ‘Night Life’ at the Luke Bryan-hosted affair.

Joined by fellow GRAMMY winner Chris Stapleton, the unlikely pairing finished their performance to a (much deserved) standing ovation.
