As reported, Jennifer Hough filed suit against The Pettys over allegations including harassment and witness intimidation.
She claimed she was being pressured by Nicki and her hubby to withdraw her statement about the sexual assault Petty was convicted for carrying out on her in 1994.
At the time of the filing, Hough alleged that spoke with Minaj directly and she laid out claims of behavior from the couple she says was engineered to force her to take back her comments.
In a dramatic twist today, though, TMZ reports the lawsuit against Nicki was voluntarily dismissed by Hough.
Interestingly, it’s believed no settlement was reached nor was there any financial agreement.
Instead, legal reps for Onika expressed anger at what they say amounts to a shake-down attempt.
A legal letter reportedly fired off to Hough’s attorney’s read:
“In my view, your conduct in pursuing this case against Nicki represents the worst of our legal system: bottom-feeding lawyers who pursue frivolous actions against a celebrity assuming that they will be paid off if they throw enough dirt.”
Per the report, Nicki will pursue the recovery of legal fees.
Meanwhile, her husband Kenneth is still a defendant in the case.
