Queen of Hip Hop Soul Mary J. Blige may have reigned Queen of the 2022 Super Bowl Halftime Show as the sole female performer on a bill of headliners that included Dr. Dre, Eminem, Kendrick Lamar, and Snoop Dogg (as we reported here), but the diva recently revealed if she ever gets asked to lead the coveted slot again she’d like to do so with a LOT more girl power!
Blige, hot on the promo trail in support of her new studio album, ‘Good Morning Gorgeous,’ as well her headlining gig at Super Bowl LVI’s halftime show, was recently spotted on E!’s ‘Daily Pop.’
While chatting it up with resident host Justin Sylvester, MJB dished on a number of topics – including if she would ever perform at the biggest spectacle on Earth for a third time (having first shared stage time at the game in 2001 with Nelly, Britney Spears, and others).
After indicating she’d love to return to the platform in the future, she detailed her fantasy lineup – which she revealed would include fellow music royal Janet Jackson.
“Just to say ‘leave my girl alone,'” she began at the 2:40 mark after Sylvester suggested she invite the Pop Queen. “Respect to the Queen herself.”

The fun-filled interview came just ahead of Mary’s stellar showing at the Super Bowl Sunday (February 13) – a performance deemed by many as one of the event’s most memorable musical offerings.
