Nicki Minaj has one question to the Public Health Department of Philadelphia: do we have a problem?
As previously reported, Minaj found herself the center of a firestorm of international controversy after publicly questioning the safety of the COVID-19 vaccines – even providing an anecdote about the potential of their negative impact on people by stating her cousin’s friend’s testicles were swollen after receiving a shot.
Months after that hoopla subsided, Philadelphia Public Health garnered media attention Thursday (February 17) for bringing it back up via posted screen shots of her aged tweets that referenced the vaccine drama.
After being swarmed with slams from Minaj’s faithful fans, affectionately called #Barbz, the rapper stepped in to finish the job.
The verified Philadelphia Public Health Twitter account retweeted Nick’s post about uninformed people who speak knowledgeably on subject matter they’re unfamiliar with alongside a screen shot of her 2021 posts about the COVID vaccines (to suggest she was hypocritical and ultimately the very type of person she was speaking out against).
After the tweet above garnered over 150,000 likes and over one thousand replies, Minaj entered the chat.
In response to their tweet, Nicki said:
“Philadelphia’s public health account is posting Nicki Minaj tweets for engagement. They are attempting to shame ppl for advising others to PRAY, be COMFORTABLE & NOT BE BULLIED. I’ve never seen a vaccine trigger this amount of shaming & fear tactics have you? #DoWeHaveAProblem.”
Some of her fans chimed in to suggest they weren’t going to get vaccinated due to the health department’s online antics. Here’s what Nicki had to say about that.
