‘Neighbors Know My Name’ hitmaker Trey Songz sees his name attached to yet another rape accusation after a woman recently came forward with a $20 million lawsuit against him with claims the singer brutally raped her.
Ariel Mitchell, the attorney who also represents two other women suing Trey for alleged sexual assaults, is serving as the rep of the woman filing the $20 million suit.
According to reports, the incident happened at a house party in 2016. There, the woman alleges she thought she was about to engage in consensual vaginal sex with Trey, but the then-32-year-old singer had other plans. Despite her reported declination of his advances, he allegedly ripped her clothes off, pinned her down, and penetrated her anally without consent.
After the alleged assault, she claims she ran outside to get an Uber. The Uber driver, who noticed she was in distress, took her to a hospital where she had a sexual assault exam performed. According to the woman, the exam revealed she had “severe anal tearing that could require surgery.” At the time of incident, the woman did not point the finger at Trey due to “fearing for her life.”
A representative for the GRAMMY nominee took to press Tuesday (February 15) to slam the accusations as “false” and even suggested the women’s claims are extortion attempts.
“Earlier today, the attorney who drafted this suit was credibly accused of trying to pay a woman to falsely accuse Trey,” said the rep. “Hours later, that same attorney has filed this suit on behalf of an anonymous client. It isn’t hard to see what’s happening here, and it is a shame for genuine victims of sexual assault.”
