Doja Cat dominated the Billboard charts in 2021 (and well into 2022) with hits found aboard her third studio album, ‘Planet Her.’
For that reason and more, it’s only fitting the Rap diva was bestowed the PowerHouse Award at the 2022 Billboard Women in Music event Wednesday night (March 2).
Presented the honor by fellow stage blazer Normani, Cat not only made headlines for delivering an impassioned acceptance speech and stunning performance of her song ‘Alone,’ but also for sending her fans – affectionately called #Kittens – into a frenzy with reports she may be gearing up to share studio time with the former Fifth Harmony star.
More inside:
Ahead of Doja’s stunning performance and award acceptance, she crashed Normani’s red carpet interview at the event. As the latter showered the ‘Get Into It (Yuh)’ hitmaker with praise, she got into her ‘dream’ of collaborating with the GRAMMY nominee.
“I’ve actually wanted to collaborate with her for such a long time. I have a dream list of collaborations and she’s definitely [on it],” Normani said at the 1 minute mark of the video above.
Once Doja appeared, the interviewer tried to facilitate getting the two into the studio.
“We should,” Cat said in response to the interviewer’s suggestion the divas duet for a track. “We’ve talked about it,” Normani added.
While no official date was tied to the commentary, it was enough to send both ladies’ fan bases – #Kittens and #NormaniNation – into a frenzy.
Until we get more news on the prospective pairing, look below to see other Doja highlights from the night (performance, accepting her award, etc.).
