The National Recording Registry has selected its next round of inductees.
This time around, projects by Alicia Keys, A Tribe Called Quest, and more all made the list.

Every year, 25 sound recordings are selected to be added to the Registry. Their goal is to annually provide an updated list of recordings that have been determined by the Library of Congress to be “culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant.”
This year, Alicia Keys’ debut album ‘Songs in A Minor’ was selected along with A Tribe Called Quest’s 1991 album ‘The Low End Theory.’ Other selected projects include: ‘The Christmas Song’ by Nat King Cole, ‘Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers)’ by Wu-Tang Clan, and ‘Livin’ La Vida Loca’ by Ricky Martin.
In a statement, Carla Hayden, Librarian of Congress, said:
“The National Recording Registry reflects the diverse music and voices that have shaped our nation’s history and culture through recorded sound. The national library is proud to help preserve these recordings, and we welcome the public’s input. We received about 1,000 public nominations this year for recordings to add to the registry.”
