New updates have arrived in the copyright lawsuit case against Drake and Chris Brown over their song ‘No Guidance.’

In new court documents, Drake has officially been dropped from the lawsuit. The documents read:
“It is hereby ordered and adjudged that defendant Aubrey Drake Graham a/k/a Drake is dismissed with prejudice and without costs or attorneys’ fees as against any party.”
However, the judge overseeing the case took the time to make a quick joke, saying:
“In dismissing this case, the Court notes that Mr. Graham started from the bottom—being named as a defendant—now we’re here—a dismissal with prejudice.”
As of reporting, Brown still remains a defendant in the case.
In February, Plaintiff Braindon Cooper claimed both Brown and Drake ripped off the hook to his song ‘I Love Your Dress’ from 2016 to use on their song ‘No Guidance.’
The following month, Brown’s legal team responded to the accusation, saying that it was “not a close call” between the two songs (as we reported here).
‘No Guidance’ appears on Brown’s ‘Indigo’ album and was a hit on the Billboard Hot 100 when it peaked at #5.
