Kanye West & JAY-Z Now Tied As Most-Decorated Rappers in GRAMMY History

Published: Sunday 3rd Apr 2022 by Rashad

Although it was widely trumpeted that JAY-Z sits in GRAMMY record books as the most-nominated act of all time (as we reported here), a more quietly celebrated feat is his listing as the most GRAMMY-decorated rapper in history.

At Sunday’s GRAMMYs (April 3), he learned he now shares the title with longtime collaborator Kanye West.

See how inside:

Though disinvited from the ceremony, West was still up for three trophies:  Album of the Year, Best Rap song, and Best Melodic Rap Performance.  Because he captured the latter two categories for his songs ‘Jail’ (featuring JAY-Z) and ‘Hurricane’ (featuring The Weeknd and Lil Baby) respectively, his career GRAMMY count now equals 24.

The ‘Jail’ win also pushes JAY’s career count to 24 golden gramophones.
