Sam Smith has a reason to celebrate.
For, the acclaimed singer has earned a bevy of new plaques thanks to their updated sales.
More details below…
Taking to press, the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) announced that Smith has earned their third album to be certified Platinum or higher. Their most recent album, ‘Love Goes,’ has now crossed the 1,000,000 copies sold threshold and has been certified platinum as a result.
Elsewhere, they earned a bevy of new certifications. Case in point, their album ‘The Thrill of It All’ is now certified 2x Platinum. Their singles ‘Make It To Me,’ ‘Diamonds,’ ‘Fire On Fire,’ and ‘Not In That Way’ are all now certified Platinum.
‘How Will I Know,’ and ‘Burning’ crossed the threshold for Gold status or 500,000 equivalent units sold.
The news of their updated certifications comes as they tease their new album (as we reported here).
This is really huge. There are American artists who don’t even come close to that longevity, especially with albums.
8M in the USA 🇺🇸 is not an easy feat, congrats to this icon
