Doja Cat entered the 64th annual GRAMMY Awards tied with R&B songstress H.E.R. for title of the night’s most-nominated female act.
Yet, that industry recognition still isn’t enough to keep the rapstress from hanging up her mic – if an explosive rant on Twitter recently is anything to judge by.
While walking the event’s red carpet Sunday night (April 3), Doja addressed the rumors she’d soon be pressing the STOP button on her whirlwind career while also giving a huge shout out to her idol, Nicki Minaj, as well as rising femcee Doechii.
Hop inside to see what she said:
Approached by ‘Entertainment Tonight’ resident anchors Kevin Frazier and Nischelle Turner, the stunning diva – while draped in Versace – fielded questions about her future in the music industry, dream collaborations, and more.
Although she didn’t give a direct answer when asked about her shocking tweets about retirement (as seen at the 1:35 mark in the video above), she did confirm fans needn’t worry that the exodus will happen any time soon.
“Yes, I will yes,” the 26-year-old singer told Frazier and Turner about going on ‘After Hours Tour’ with The Weeknd. “It’s going to happen yes. North America I am coming.”
Later in the conversation, Doja discussed her dream musical collaborations.
“Well, everybody knows it’s Nicki [Minaj], it’s all the time,” she says. “There is new artists that I would want to work with later. Doechii is another amazing. Doechii is another female rapper that is incredible and she just signed to TDE and I am obsessed.”
