Having watched dozens of her singles soar to various certifications at the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) over her career, lifting a tune to Gold or Platinum status has never been a problem for rapstress Nicki Minaj. Her latest Billboard Hot 100 top 20 hit – ‘Do We Have a Problem’ – reiterates this.
Taking to press April 29, the RIAA revealed the Lil Baby-assisted bop had already sold the equivalence of over 500,000 copies in the United States, thereby meeting its threshold for Gold status barely three months after its release.
What’s more, it accompanied other prized Minaj titles to new certification heights. Details inside.
As Nicki fans – affectionately called #Barbz – anxiously await official news about her long-awaited, yet-titled fifth studio album they continue to spin her jams of yesteryear.
Evidence of this comes via word of the commercial performance promotion of her hits ‘Megatron’ (2019) and ‘Yikes’ (2020). Both lifted to Platinum status (meaning they’ve sold the equivalence of 1 million copies each in the U.S.),
The additions join her previously-certified hits like ‘Anaconda,’ ‘Only,’ and ‘Pound the Alarm’ and push her cumulative digital single sales up to 34.5 million – making her one of the best-selling female acts of the era.
