The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame has unveiled the list of names that will be inducted into the Class of 2022.

Parton’s induction is of particular note following her initial request to be omitted from voting. Articulating a slight change of stance this week, the Country legend revealed that she would graciously accept if she were announced as an inductee – which is now the case.

Elsewhere, Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis and Judas Priest will receive the Musical Excellence Award, while Harry Belafonte and Elizabeth Cotton will be saluted as Early Influencers.

The Ahmet Ertegun Award for non-performing industry professionals will honor producer/Interscope Co-Founder Jimmy Iovine, lawyer Allen Grubman, and Sugar Hill Records Founder Sylvia Robinson.

The Class of 2022 will mark first time in the Hall’s 37-year history that six female acts — Parton, Benatar, Simon, Cotten, Robinson, and Annie Lennox (who comprised Eurythmics with her partner Dave Stewart) — will be inducted in the same year.

Speaking on the unveiling, R&RHOF Chairman John Sykes said in a statement:

“This diverse group of inductees each had a profound impact on the sound of youth culture and helped change the course of rock & roll. Their music moved generations and influenced so many artists that followed.”

Inductees will join the elite list of past winners, which includes Michael Jackson, Madonna, The Beatles, Janet Jackson, JAY-Z, Notorious B.I.G, and Whitney Houston.

The Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame 2022 Induction Ceremony will take place at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles on November 5. It will air on HBO Max shortly after.
