Megan Thee Stallion may be no stranger to racing into the Billboard Hot 100’s top 20 with her hard-hitting Hip Hop hits over the last three years, but she’s also dashed into the chart territory with a number of genre-blending collaborations like ‘Beautiful Mistakes’ with Maroon 5, the Dua Lipa-assisted ‘Sweetest Pie,’ and more.
As she works to put the finishing touches on her sophomore studio album, the follow-up to 2020’s ‘Good News,’ her fans – affectionately called #Hotties – were greeted with the good news the Stallion may be trotting to the studio with ‘Dark Horse’ hitmaker Katy Perry.
More inside:
Perry took to Twitter to shout out Meg for rocking out to her song ‘Thinking of You’ found on her 2008 major label debut album, ‘One of the Boys.’
Retweeting the cute clip, Katy included the caption:
“omg lez duet ily Meg THEE katycat.”
Needless to say, the post sent the 37-year-old GRAMMY nominee’s fans (affectionately called #Katycats) into a frenzy, and even eventually made its way to Meg’s desk. Her reply?
“Omg yes hot girl Katy! Let’s do a song.”
While nothing is set in stone as of yet, the tune – if it ever comes to fruition – will be their first official duet and may appear on both acts’ forthcoming releases as Perry and Stallion are both reportedly working on new music.
For Katy, the foray into Hip Hop terrain is far from unfamiliar as she’s cranked out hits with the likes of Migos, Nicki Minaj, Juicy J, and Kanye West in the past.
