Cat Burns has been blazing the charts with her emotionally-charged single ‘Go’ and its winning trajectory looks set to continue thanks to a brand new collaboration incarnation with Sam Smith.
The pair performed first the track on Speakers’ Corner in Hyde Park over the Jubilee Bank Holiday Weekend and have today (Cat’s 23rd birthday) unwrapped the studio version.
Smith, a GRAMMY and Oscar winner, said of working with the rising star (who has been named Spotify UK’s Radar Artist):
“I came across Cat’s music earlier this year and I was immediately moved and refreshed by her honesty, incredible technique and delivery as a vocalist. am so thankful to be a very small part of this special song and moment. Cat is a gift to us all.”
Take a listen after the jump…
The release of ‘Go’ with Smith arrives on the heels of the Gold certification earned by the original and as Burns continues to leave an indelible mark on the live circuit.
Ahead of a stadium supporting slot across Europe with Ed Sheeran this summer and a headlining show at KOKO on October 4, Burns blew the roof off Omeara in London.
That Grape Juice was on hand at the last of a sold-out three-show run and witnessed the Streatham-reared songstress take command of the stage with confidence and seasoning well beyond her years.
Wowing with a set comprised of fan favorites and yet to be released cuts, Burns – who recently released EP ‘Emotionally Unavailable’ – wowed with spirited renditions of songs such as ‘Go,’ ‘Anxiety,’ and ‘We’re Not Kids Anymore’ – the latter of which caused her to tear up before launching into a soaring performance.
Between her live gravitas and rousing resonance on record, Burns is unquestionably one to watch.
