Lizzo is one of music’s biggest stars, however, she is now comparing herself to another one of music’s biggest stars: Taylor Swift.

Fresh off the release of her new album, ‘Special,’ Lizzo appeared on ‘The Breakfast Club’ where she spilled the beans on the project and even compared herself to the ‘Blank Space’ singer.

Lizzo explained to Charlamagne Tha God, Angela Yee, and DJ Envy that she uses real-life experiences to inspire her music. It was then that DJ Envy asked her if the people she dates should know she might sing about them. This led Lizzo to respond: “Absolutely. I’m Black Taylor Swift. I really am. I’m trifling.”

She cites one example is her song ‘Break Up Twice,’ which was inspired by her current partner Myke Wright.

Swift too has turned some of her biggest relationships over the years into hit songs (see ‘All Too Well,’ ‘Dear John,’ and ‘Back to December’). Like Lizzo, Swift also has kept many of the details about who her songs are about private.

Elsewhere in the interview, she talked about Prince, having no rules in a relationship, and more.
