Three months shy of its 1-year anniversary, ‘An Evening with Silk Sonic’ – the debut album from GRAMMY winners Anderson .Paak and Bruno Mars collective Silk Sonic – has sped its way to a new certification status at the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).

Taking to press recently, the RIAA announced the ‘Silk Sonic’ project slid past its threshold for Platinum certification thanks to surpassing 1 million in sales in the United States.

The project, which debuted and peaked at #2 on the Billboard 200, is home to the previously Platinum-certified single ‘Leave the Door Open’ as well as hits ‘Smokin Out the Window’ and ‘Skate.’

Inspired by the R&B sounds of the 60’s and 70’s, content from the critically acclaimed LP served as the setlist for the duo’s amply-praised residency in Las Vegas (named after their debut album).  Originally set to end in May, the jaunt was extended to August 19 due to popular demand.
