Megan Thee Stallion‘s legal battle with her label 1501 Certified Entertainment is now heating up.
For, she is now asking for a large sum of money from them.
More details below…
Rolling Stone now reports that the ‘Her’ hitmaker is now seeking $1 million from her label. The publication writes that she has “satisfied all option periods” that have been stipulated in her contract
However, the label countered and said that Megan hasn’t fulfilled her contractual obligations since her project ‘Something for the Hotties’ doesn’t count as an album for a number of reasons.
Her request for $1 million in damages comes from her claim that she has already fulfilled her debt and should be rewarded for her “entirely one-sided” contract. Moreover, it comes from the claim that her label allegedly withheld royalties.
The label countered and claimed that Megan, instead, owes them money or work outside of creating music, such as touring, endorsing, and merchandising.
1501 went on to claim that Megan “seemed happy” with them until she brought on Roc Nation to manage her three years ago.
It is worth noting that the GRAMMY-winner has said that her relationship with Roc Nation helped her to realize that her deal was not operating on industry standards.
