Just days after Minaj made headlines for slamming ‘Housewives’ star Garcelle Beauvais for reported comments that stemmed from her interview of a woman who accused Nicki’s husband of rape in 1995, another of the franchise’s stars – Porsha – landed on the Rap Queen’s radar after the post above was lifted to Instagram.
The text on post’s accompanying photo – which featured celebrated female rappers like Missy Elliott, Lil Kim, MC Lyte, Left Eye, Foxy Brown, and others – read, “Thank you for making [not you] female rap about unity.” However, Minaj’s photo in the collage had the words “not you” appearing in red.
Inciting a wave of backlash as a result,Williams later took to the platform to reveal she did not mean to shade the ‘Super Freaky Girl’ hitmaker.
“Guys calm down! I love @nickiminaj,” Williams’ wrote on Instagram to her 7.1 million followers. “I saw this and posted it quickly thinking it was a salute to all these Queens including Queen @nickiminaj! No news here. No shade either.”
Many of the commenters on the post weren’t exactly buying Porsha’s statement, with some pointing to Minaj’s recently released all-female remix to ‘Super’ as proof of her stance on female Rap unity.
