A new side of Mariah Carey could soon be seen.
For, the Songbird Supreme is now unveiling her plans to release her alt-rock album from the ’90s.

Speaking to Rolling Stone, she revealed that she recently came across a version of the album with her vocals in the forefront.
She said:
“The quest for that version is going great. We actually have it. This was my outlet, and nobody knew about it. Most people, I’d rather they don’t even know about it until we decide exactly what happens from that quest of finding those vocals.”
Previously, Mariah confirmed that she had worked on a rock album in her book ‘The Meaning of Mariah Carey.’ In it, she revealed that rock band Chick had released the album, but only with Mariah’s vocals in the background.
Speaking on what else she had planned for the album, she said:
“I think this unearthed version will become something that, yes, we should hear. But also, I’m working on a version of something where there’ll be another artist working on this with me as well … Possibly something built around the album. I’m just full of surprises.”
The news comes shortly after Mariah celebrated the 25th anniversary of her iconic ‘Butterfly’ album.

Too bad she didn’t explore that sound while she was at her peak vocally.
She did in 1995 as a band called Chick. The album is called Someone’s Ugly Daughter.
She had to strip her lead vocals and only stay on backing though as the label were worried about her image. I think she may have released her versions though…
