Queen Naija added yet another shiny gem from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) to her crown this week courtesy of her Big Sean-assisted hit, ‘Hate Our Love.’
Taking to press Friday (September 16), the RIAA announced the Michael Woods-produced bop – which serves as the lead single from Queen’s yet-titled sophomore album – passed its threshold for Gold status, meaning it’s sold the equivalence of 500,000 copies in the United States alone.
Her eighth tune to be certified as high or higher, ‘Hate’ follows her previously adorned hits ‘Butterflies Pt. 2′ (Gold), ‘Mama’s Hand’ (Gold), ‘Lie to Me’ (Gold), ‘Pack Lite’ (Gold), ‘Medicine’ (2x Platinum), ‘Butterflies’ (Platinum), and ‘Karma’ (Platinum). Platinum denotes sales of 1 million in the United States.
‘Hate Our Love’ also found love on the Hot 100 at the height of its popularity. Peaking at #88, the tune comes as her third single to impact the tally (following the #45-peaking ‘Medicine’ and the #63-peaking ‘Karma’). What’s more, it’s her fourth #1 hit on the Adult R&B Songs chart.
Fans of the 26-year-old can currently catch her singing ‘Hate’ and more of her favorites live as the supporting act on Mary J. Blige‘s hotly-selling ‘Good Morning Gorgeous’ tour. Click here to see dates.
