Cardi B fans, affectionately called #BardiGang, know she doesn’t hesitate to show love to the big hits of other artists.
And while she’s collected many awards for her Rap skills (often to historic measure), the 29-year-old has never been shy about flexing her singing as well – even offering interesting a capella renditions of Beyonce‘s ‘Love on Top’ and ‘Break My Soul,’ Normani‘s ‘Motivation,’ Selena‘s ‘Como La Flor,’ and more over the years.
More recently she took to social media to demonstrate her vocal dexterity by tackling ‘When I See U,’ the signature tune of fellow GRAMMY winner Fantasia.
Once the ‘American Idol’ alum got wind of Cardi’s adventurous take on the 2006 smash, she suggested the two find time to make a new hit of their own.

As captured by our friends at UrbanIslandz in the video above, Cardi took to social media last week to sing her heart out to Tasia’s ‘When I See U’ – one of the R&B powerhouse’s biggest hits.
When the clip landed on the desk of the songstress, she took to the same platform to say:
“I love me some Cardi B I’d do anything for a song with you. Love your story and your truth. We are a lot alike @IamcardiB. Let’s give them a soulful hip hop Bop. What chu say queen?” Fannie wrote in an Instagram story before later stating, “@Iamcardi you jacked those words baby girl you can do no wrong! Let’s Do A Song Queen.”
At writing, Cardi – who is hard-at-work on the follow-up to her Billboard 200-topping debut album ‘Invasion of Privacy’ (2018) – has yet to confirm if she’ll be taking Fantasia up on the request.
