Saweetie Confirms New Project ‘The Single Life’ Will Address Quavo Breakup & Drop THIS YEAR

Published: Monday 31st Oct 2022 by Rashad

After multiple unkept promises about the arrival of ‘Pretty B*tch Music,’ the long-awaited debut album from rapper Saweetie, fans of the diva – affectionately called #IcyGang – may have assumed the LP’s status had turned to a cold case.

But, if recent news from the GRAMMY nominee is anything to judge by, she’s ready to turn up the heat this winter with a new musical project to act as a warm-up.

Saweetie, in partnership with Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Honey, hosted a a Hollywood event to toast the arrival of her five signature Jack Honey cocktails – Saweet & Sour, Big Mouf Blogs, Shot O’ Clock, That Potion, and Spin Da Block.  While there, the rapstress caught up with our friends at ‘PEOPLE’ to dish about her new musical efforts.

Titled ‘The Single Life,’ the ‘Tap In’ hitmaker says the forthcoming project will serve as “my testimony as a single woman and what I’ve been through, the good and the bad.”

“I feel like a lot of my private love life has been publicized on the media and the internet, so it’s time for me to speak up,” she told the mag.

Using her music as the vehicle to respond to the rumors about the demise of her relationship with former Migos frontman Quavo, it’s likely she will address the hoopla caused by his recent song – ‘Messy‘ – in which he insinuated she had a sexual affair with one of his friends.  At writing, Quavo has not confirmed who the friend was.

Although she asserts ‘Single Life’ will hit digital shelves this year, she has not confirmed if it will replace her debut album or simply tide fans over until the LP’s release.

As for what fans can expect from the opus, Saweetie says it will be like listening to a page out of her journal.

“I think they can expect honesty, truth,” she started before later relaying, “The single life is really like a diary to my life. So whatever they catch, they don’t catch.”
