Since the 1984 debut of ‘Diamond Life,’ R&B icon Sade – frontwoman of the band that bears her name – has sold millions of records thanks to hits found aboard six studio albums, the last of which, ‘Soldier of Love,’ marched to the top of charts in 2010.
As calls continue for the elusive chanteuse to add even more classics to her prized discography, the GRAMMY-winning diva – renown for her timeless tunes as much she is the time between their releases – finally seems poised to answer.
Details inside.
Per a new report published by Billboard, the 63-year-old and her legendary band have been among the first to record new music at the recently reopened Miraval Studios in France.
“You could feel the love that she and the band had for this place,” said producer Damien Quintard. “And when we talked to musicians who came here previously, they all have this special connection with Miraval that can’t really be explained…It’s a dream come true to see this place activate again.”
Miraval was reopened by Quintard and Academy Award-winning actor Brad Pitt, who referred to Sade as ‘royalty’ in a recent chat with the Music Bible.
The report follows many over the years that have promised the history-making band were set to launch new music, though they have been featured on soundtracks like 2018’s ‘A Wrinkle in Time’ and ‘Widows.’
At writing, no member of or rep for the group has confirmed if the music record in France will be tied to a studio album or a specialty project. However, it’s worth noting that band member Stuart Matthewman suggested Sade had already written “a bunch of songs” for its next album.
“We’re working on a new album. When we’re happy, then we’ll let everyone else hear it,” Matthewman said in an interview in 2018. “The record company knows there’s no point in nagging us or giving us deadlines. It doesn’t really help the process.”
It appears we’ll just have to keep playing the waiting game.
Her music is timeless and always worth the wait!

I’m here for it! Soldier of Love was a solid album I still play it to this day. I still upset Moon and the Sky wasn’t a official single lol
Agreed! I love Skin.
My favorite as a child was Paradise. My mom used to play it on a 7” vinyl single and pick me up to dance around the room with me to it 🤣 My all-time favorite Sade song is still No Ordinary Love though!
F*** you vermin
Flop💅🏾 No one even cares… this lazy irrelevant bish only releases music every decade… miss no motivation…
Dumb trannny! Sade will NEVER be a flop. She could drop an album tomorrow and it’ll top the charts. Your overworked broke favs could never do it!!
