2022 may have seen rising rapstress Coi Leray have to defend the commercial performance of her debut album, ‘Trendsetter‘ (which peaked at #89 on the Billboard 200), but her efforts on the Billboard Hot 100 haven’t required that energy.
Capturing the second top 40 hit of her career thanks to the Nicki Minaj-assisted ‘Blick Blick,’ the song fared even better on R&B/Hip-Hop charts as it secured her first top 10 placement on the latter tally.
Now, a month after the official release of her latest single, ‘Players,’ the ‘Blick’ beauty looks poised to fire off yet another impressive run on the Hot 100.

Thanks to an explosive response on Tik Tok courtesy of an accompanying dance challenge and remix, the Johnny Goldstein-produced ‘Players’ – which prominently samples Puff Daddy and Mase‘s ‘Can’t Nobody Hold Me Down’ (derived from Grandmaster Flash & the Furious Five‘s ‘The Message’) – has ascended to #1 on the refreshed Rap Digital Sales list.
Besting the week’s commercial performance of hits like ‘Rich Flex’ (Drake & 21 Savage), ‘Super Freaky Girl’ (Nicki Minaj), ‘Superhero‘ (Metro Boomin, Chris Brown, & Future), and other Hip-Hop top-sellers, ‘Players’ comes as the first time Coi’s topped the Rap sales tally by her lonesome. Her overall inaugural reign there was with the Minaj-assisted ‘Blick’ earlier this year.
When combined with streams and radio airplay, the sales figures attached to ‘Players’ were enough to help it premiere just outside of the Hot 100 at #19 on the Bubbling Under Charts – a status undoubtedly caused by the swarm of holiday songs on the main hitlist that are currently dominating by occupying over 30% of its spaces.
