Adrienne Bailon-Houghton is getting super candid about her roller coaster journey to motherhood.
As reported, the media maven welcomed her first child – a baby boy named Ever James – with her husband Israel Houghton last year.
At the time, the singer and former host of The Real shared that her newborn entered the world via gestational surrogate.
Now, during an appearance on The Jennifer Hudson Show, Bailon-Houghton is opening up the more.
Speaking frankly, she unpacks how her quest to become a mom took six years, “8 IVF cycles,” and “multiple miscarriages.”
It was after being informed by her doctors that she was on her last fertilized embryo that surrogacy was suggested and she and her partner proceeded down that path.
As for why she’s opening up, the former 3LW and Cheetah Girls performer says that fertility issues are rarely discussed publicly but she’s found many women share that they’ve experienced them in private conversations.
Head below to watch her discuss hers.
More power to her and huge kudos for sharing a story that will inevitably help others.
