Watch: Tory Lanez’s Dad Says Their Family “Forgives Megan Thee Stallion” For Shooting Trial & Legal Drama

Published: Friday 13th Jan 2023 by Rashad

Weeks after a jury found Tory Lanez (born Daystar Peterson) guilty of felony assault with a firearm and other charges stemming from his 2020 shooting of fellow rapper Megan Thee Stallion (as we reported here), his father has taken to social media to weigh in further on the matter – even asserting the Petersons have forgiven the ‘Body‘ hitmaker for her role in the incident and the hoopla that’s resulted.

Details inside.

As Tory prepares for his February 28 sentencing hearing (and the potential of his new attorneys securing a new trial), he’s yet to make a public statement about the guilty verdict handed down December 23.

His father, on the other hand, has been more than vocal about the highly publicized case – even making headlines for a bizarre rant in which he called out JAY-Z and Beyonce for allegedly using their influence over the jury’s decision.

Continuing his trend of speaking out, Sonstar took to Instagram live this week to not only reflect on the impact the legal drama has had on the Peterson family but also discuss how they’re working to move past it.

“This might come as a shock to many of you, but guess what? Both my son, myself, and others of our family have long decided that we are not going to hold any animosity against Megan Pete – aka Megan Thee Stallion,” he revealed at the 1:36 mark of the video above. “We forgave that girl a long time ago because, again, we know that the principle of forgiveness is important in order to cleanse one’s heart, soul, and to not be bound up with hatred.”

Going on to outline the physical health benefits of forgiveness, Tory’s dad made sure to detail that “forgiveness” will not curtail what he suggests is the pursuit of justice – which, as he believes, will take place once Daystar is exonerated of all charges.

As of time reported, Meg nor anyone from her camp has responded to Sonstar’s rant.
