‘Rolling Stone’ Ranks Rihanna As Third Greatest Female Halftime Show Headliner of ALL TIME, Topping Madonna & Lady Gaga

Published: Monday 13th Feb 2023 by Rashad

Rihanna‘s long-awaited musical comeback at the 2023 Super Bowl on Sunday (February 12) may have been a critical polarizer for a number of viewers, but the good folks at ‘Rolling Stone‘ were clearly fans of the epic showing.

So much so, they have already updated their ‘greatest Super Bowl Halftime Shows’ list to include the Pop diva in the top 10!

Details inside.

Armed with a brigade of dancers and high octane choreography, a pregnant Rihanna stomped all up and through Glendale’s State Farm Stadium to a megamix of her greatest hits including ‘Work,’ ‘Where Have You Been,’ ‘Diamonds,’ ‘We Found Love,’ and more.

Scoring a critical touchdown with her dedicated fans (affectionately called the #Navy), Rih also had a slew of celebrities like Chris Brown, Ariana Grande, Christina Aguilera, and others singing her praises.

The latest to make headlines for cheering on the GRAMMY-winning diva is ‘Rolling Stone,’ which ranked her 13-minute set as the third greatest female-led halftime show in history.  Per their list, only Beyonce‘s 2013 showing and Shakira/Jennifer Lopez‘s 2020 shared stage time were greater.

Speaking on Rih, the mag said:

“Guest stars? Costume changes? Fancy choreography? Nah. RiRi rocked all the way solo, untouchably cool on her flying stage, because all she needed was her own superhuman DGAF charisma. She sneered though one banger after another, visibly pregnant but letting it all hang out, with a squad of white-hooded dancers,” they said before wrapping up the review with, “She also paused to fix her makeup, in a mini-ad for her own Fenty Beauty line. Talk about a boss move.”

Among the names below the 34-year-old on the mag’s ‘best-ever’ list are King and Queen of Pop Michael Jackson and Madonna – who are credited with changing the Super Bowl halftime show game with their respective history-making performances – as well as Lady Gaga and Katy Perry.
