After Trump Said Rihanna Has “No Talent,” Coldplay’s Chris Martin Called Her the “Best Singer of All Time”

Published: Sunday 12th Feb 2023 by Rashad

From her beloved fans (affectionately called the #Navy) to her peers and beyond, Rihanna is the name on everyone’s lips as her highly anticipated Super Bowl comeback nears.

And while most are wishing the Bajan beauty the best of luck for the show-stopping spectacle she’s sure to put on, others – like former U.S. president Donald Trump – aren’t exactly counting themselves among the diva’s cheerleaders ahead of the big game Sunday night (February 12).

See what we mean inside.

Like Rih’s ‘Can’t Remember to Forget You’ co-star Shakira (as seen here), former Super Bowl Halftime headliner Chris Martin (lead singer of Coldplay) took to the Web over the last week to impart well wishes to the ‘Work‘ songstress ahead of her Apple Music-sponsored show at Sunday’s game.

In a recent interview with Apple Music 1, Martin sang no shortage of praises for his ‘Princess in China’ co-star.

“I don’t know Rihanna very well,” he told host Zane Lowe on Friday (February 10). “I’m mainly just a fan, and we have performed with her a few times, and you’re right, it is rarer and rarer for her to just sing, which is what makes it even more special, and in a strange way, it shows that she really, really wants to do it. No one can make Rihanna do anything at this point.”

Later in the chat Chris confirmed he is a proud, card-carrying member of the #Navy.

“You have to be an idiot not to recognize that she’s the best singer of all time,” he continued. “I’m very biased because I’m such a big Rihanna fan. I mean, I think she could just walk out in sweatpants and sing, and that would be just great.”

While the Coldplay frontman was making headlines for his adulation of Rihanna, another big name – Donald Trump – was making headlines for the opposite.

After Ronny Jackson, a Texas congressman, slammed the NFL for featuring the GRAMMY-winning songstress as its Super Bowl halftime show headliner, Trump chimed in with a few slams of his own.

“Without her ‘Stylist’ she’d be NOTHING,” the former president wrote on Truth Social. “Bad everything, and NO TALENT!”

At writing, Rih has yet to respond to Martin or Trump’s comment.
