Ice’s inaugural charting single, ‘Munch’ – found aboard her debut EP ‘Like..?‘ – may have failed to impact the Hot 100 at the height of its popularity but it did enjoy a noteworthy run in the top 40 of the Hip-Hop/R&B charts thanks to an explosive response on Tik Tok (and co-sign from Drake).
In the time since its August 2022 release, ‘Munch’ has bitten into some major streaming stats on digital platforms like Spotify, Tidal, and Apple Music – a commercial performance that helped hoist it to Gold status at the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). The measure denotes sales equivalence of 500,000 in the United States.
Announced by the RIAA on Friday (April 21), the certification ascension marks the first release of Spice’s career to be attached to such honor.
The news dropped just a week after the rising rapstress soared to the top of real-time digital sales charts with the Nicki Minaj-assisted single, ‘Princess Diana (remix).’
